So...I finally decided on a shade (3W1 Tawny) and got my little DW bottle. I tested it again at the Estée Lauder Sears counter and really liked it. I applied Tawny on one half of my face and left the other side sans foundation. I know I looked funny as I went outside looking for different types of lighting because one half of my face was completely evened out--- and looked wonderfully natural, like I didn't have makeup on--- and the other half showed redness, freckles and dark spots. XD
A drop of Tawny on top and blended on my skin
on bottom (yeah, you can hardly see it but that's the point)
I loved the color. No smell and the texture is way too soft. I could barely feel it on my face. But I will do a full review after I use it for more than 1-2 weeks.
Funny, I thought Tawny would look too yellow on me but it was a pretty good match. The 3N1 shade looked more on the pink side than really neutral. Maybe for winter. If I don't like Tawny, I can always return it.
Cool fact: I had a MAC foundation pump around and it fits the DW perfectly!

I had a bonus with my purchase: I got an Estée Lauder Gift-with-Purchase! Those are always very welcome, lol. =)

¡Vivan, amen y rían!

i can't wait to hear your review on this foundation. Finding a match for this foundation has been difficult, and I believe you and I have the same match with Revlon Colorstay.
ReplyDeleteBTW, love your blog.
Yes, I was very undecided on the color at first (also, I was at JCPenny, maybe the lighting there was different) but today, the 3W1 shade convinced me---not the counter lady, she had so much layers of makeup on!
ReplyDeleteI think this will be great, but I still haven't done a full face MU with it to know for sure, of course I will let you girls know hehe.
Thanks! Your blog was one of the one I checked to see swatches of Colorstay MU and Colorstay Active Light MU. =D
Hey Beda,
ReplyDeleteI have a sample of the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation...it is my second one. I think the first sample I had was a bad batch because when I took a picture, my face had a white cast to it! So, I think that this foundation isn't very photo-friendly. Of course, I could be wrong but I am afraid to test out the second sample for this reason. Hopefully, your shade will not do this...looking forward to your review!
I will take that into consideration when selecting a setting powder, if needed. Thanks Lakish!
ReplyDeleteThat looks invinsible on your skin! My colour is also Tawny, but I'm yet to purchase it... I wonder if I should really give it a try hehehe... Just a quick question.. What's the best way of applying it? Brush or fingers or sponge?
ReplyDeleteJust encountered your blog, and already thinks you're gorgeous!!
loves,

@Dana: I would ask for a sample before buying it, that way you are sure that's the one for you (or not).
ReplyDeleteAbout application, check this post:

I use the MAC 190 and 187 but sometimes I do use my hands. I pour a bit of products on my hands, rub them and them apply the foundation on my face as if it were a lotion, giving the finishing touches with a makeup wedge. This method provides a sheer coverage.
It's always personal preference.
HTH! =D
